Travel for Dragoncon is finally completely arranged!
We’ve had our room at the marriott for a while; but we rented our van last week. We paid a little extra to be able to pick it up the wednesday before and drop it off tuesday instead of monday. So we don’t have the rush trying to check out monday and get back to return the van this year!
Josh is not going to be able to come – so that puts the room situation like it was last year. Me & Chase in one room, the girls in another. Cath is coming down Thursday with us. She’s volunteering this year, she’s in “guest transportation” LOL 😀
I told Cath she could just stay in our room thursday night, instead of paying for that night for another room just for her. That would have been dumb.
Melissa & Ash are coming in Friday.
I’m not doing ANYTHING big this year. We were planning something, something that was going to take up most of our time beforehand MAKING it, but we’ve canceled it and put it on hold until next year. I’m not entering any of the costume contests this year, either! I know, gasp, right, I’ve always done the Masquerade and the Star Wars costume contests, but I’m just not interested this year.
New stuff —
1. Leia doll outfit
Another one! I don’t have a photo of it online right now, though. It’s just a silly thing 😀
2. Boushh
Like I’ve said, if I don’t get it finished, not gonna be upset. But now that the big project is not happening, Chase thinks we’ll have this finished for Dcon.
3. Wonder Woman Kingdom Come Armour
What we started on last year and didn’t finish. Chase has a half-finished helmet sculpt still sitting around, and I’ve still got all the material — as long as he can finish the sculpting stuff and the wings, I’ll have no problem doing my fabric parts.
4. Marasiah Fel
I’ve got a white bodysuit, but I’m stumped on whether or not I want to use it. I want to definitely do the costume how it looks on the cover, and the inside art doesn’t match it all to offer any clues as to what exactly is going on there. I think I’ve got it pretty figured out how I want to do it. I just need to sketch it out and get started.

We got a surprise set up for midsouthcon today 🙂 Not saying anything yet, and it’s nothing costume related, but it should be fun!
